Enhanced Service Delivery at Kipevu Oil Terminal 2 (KOT 2)

In a landmark move to enhance service delivery and optimize operations, the Kenya Pipeline Company (KPC) has signed a Service Level Agreement (SLA) with the Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) today. The official signing ceremony was hosted at the KPA headquarters in Mombasa, and was graced by the presence of the Boards of Directors and senior management from both KPC and KPA.

This agreement heralds a new era of operational synergy. Through this strategic alliance, KPC and KPA are committed to boosting the operational efficiency of Kipevu Oil Terminal 2 (KOT 2).

Echoing her sentiments, Mr Joe Sang, Managing Director of KPC, noted that the SLA is poised to bolster the security of oil supply chains. Concurrently, Captain William Rutto, Managing Director of KPA, stated that the partnership is strategically positioned to tackle the persistent challenges of demurrage.

On his part , Hon. Benjamin Tayari, Chairperson of the KPA Board, affirmed the mutual dedication of both institutions to advance service delivery, which will not only benefit the nation but also have a positive ripple effect across the region. After the signing of the SLA, the teams embarked on a tour of the Kipevu Oil Terminal 2 (KOT 2) facility.

This visit provided an opportunity for the teams to witness firsthand the operations that will be enhanced by the agreement. During the visit, they also addressed members of the media, outlining the expected benefits and future plans for KOT 2 under this new partnership.
